Unit Introduction

The Master's Project is the final stage of your Master’s course and is the culmination of your studies and providing you with a space to synthesise all the knowledge and skills you have gained on the course so far. Your project will be self-directed, and you will negotiate the shape and direction of your project at the outset with your supervisor. This important final phase of your studies is where you will effectively communicate your work, along with your ability to critically interrogate your practice with robust approaches to research and theoretical analysis. Upon completion of your project, you will have generated a high-level Master’s quality piece of work that will showcase your practice, academic literacy and the professional standards that will act as a platform for your future career and professional development.

Submission Information

Adjusted Assessment 

Students with an Individual Support Agreement can request to use the Adjusted Assessment deadline. They must confirm this with their programme administrator at least 2 weeks before the deadline. 

Note:

  • Adjusted assessment will not include additional time if the submission is a group outcome or group presentation.
  • Adjusted assessment is different to Extenuating Circumstances (EC). 

Extenuating Circumstances

Sometimes, unexpected things happen in life that are beyond your control. This can make it harder for you to:

  • Do well on your course
  • Finish your coursework
  • Submit your coursework on time.

If something unforeseen happens to you, you can let us know, and we'll consider that when we mark your work. We call these situations extenuating circumstances.

Please note that grades are not confirmed until after the Exam Board. 

Late Submission

Please note that if you submit work after the deadline but within 24 hours, you will incur a penalty. See Assessment Regulations for more info.
Late submissions do not apply for performances, presentations and other time-based examinations.
