Your task is to reflect on your effectiveness as a leader and/or follower during your group study guide project. Using Gibbs' Reflective Cycle and relevant theories, concepts and research evidence from the module you will describe and analyse your experience in an individual 2,000 word piece of reflective writing.
This 2,000 words will also suggest areas for development. Both the analysis and development plan(s) must be based on the relevant content from the module from weeks 1-8, and/or from other relevant leadership content from other modules e.g. OB. You should not aim to cover every week, theory, or concept but to consider a couple of broad aspects covered in these weeks to justify your analysis and proposed areas for development. You should also include your group's work towards its study guide as an appendix to the individual reflection; this does not count towards your word count.
The University of Edinburgh Reflection Toolkit explains how best to organise a reflection, and what to include in the various sections - see here. Your reflections should include a clear description of what you consider to be a key event from your study guide project, your feelings during this event, and analysis of what went well, what did not go well, and why. This analysis should include relevant theories, concepts and research evidence to identify and evidence your strengths and areas for improvement, leading to considering what could have been done differently during the experience and an action plan. - 1-3 SMART goals based on your recommendations for improving your effectiveness. The SMART goals can be presented as a table that does not count towards your word count.
