Module outcomes of BUS7C5:
- Critically evaluate and interpret the issues, concepts, and relevant theoretical models of entrepreneurship in a global context.
- Critically identify international opportunities for entrepreneurs to expand current ventures and critically discuss the environmental factors that may impact positively and negatively on the ability to develop those ventures.
- Critically discuss the logistics behind the implementation and management of a global entrepreneurial strategy and demonstrate creativity and innovation through the development of a global expansion implementation plan.
- Critically examine the impact of international venture failure and make recommendations for improvement and success.
BUS7C5 Assessment task details - provide a description of the task
Mixed project based on students completing the following tasks.
- Group - Working in your allocated groups, assume the role of an entrepreneur to produce a PowerPoint presentation to potential investors setting out your business plan, consider an international entry strategy, select a country and outline how you will set your business into this country, use theory to support your work. Each group member will need to clearly demonstrate how they have met the learning outcome for this task. You will be presenting this as a group on campus at a date to be provided by the module leader (L.O 2). 14 slides and presentation should not be more than 10 minutes. 30 marks - You can upload the completed PowerPoint on the discussion point under the Module Café on Moodle for peer review and comments before your live presentation if you wish.
- Individual - Write a report with evidenced research of the different international concepts, issues, cultural considerations to global entry referencing relevant models and theories and utilise SPSS in presenting your findings (L.O 1) 1000 words. 15 marks
- Group - Working in your allocated groups, considering the entry strategy discussed in tasks 1 and 2 produce a PowerPoint detailing your marketing entry campaign. Each group member will need to clearly demonstrate how they have met the learning outcome for this task (L.O 3). 11 slides and presentation should not be more than 10 minutes. 15 marks - You can upload the completed PowerPoint on the discussion point under the Module Café on Moodle for peer review and comments before your live presentation if you wish.
- Individual - Write a briefing paper analysing a global entrepreneurial strategy and the steps your organisation will take to become a successful international entrepreneurial company (L.O 4) 1200 words. 30 marks 5. Individual - Using a reflective model of your choice write a reflective piece on your experience in undertaking task 1 to 4 (L.O 1,2,3 & 4) 800 words. 10 marks

Task 1 and 3 will be presented live here on campus, dates and times to be confirmed.
Tasks 1 and 3 must be submitted by the group leader on the separate submission point on Moodle after the live presentation has taken place.
All group members will be expected to speak during the live presentation, you should participate in the group elements of the tasks and failure to do so will lead to a mark of zero for the non-participating member/s.
Group communication for the task 1 and 3 should be done using TEAMS, this is a compulsory directive.
Complete all the tasks and failure to do so will lead to a lower mark than expected.
BUS7C5 Submission instructions
A single Word document only (not PDF), Arial Font size 12, 1.5 line spacing, containing all your tasks for this assignment and a reference list.
Tasks 1 and 3 are group tasks that will be presented live at a date to be provided by the module leader and submitted to a separate group submission point on Moodle. All members of the group need to participate and should be present for the live presentation. Only the group leader will submit this part of the submission.
- For the Turnitin submission point, you will submit all 5 tasks individually,
- however for task 1 and 3 you will only include your contribution and your live presentation notes.
- A template for each task is available on Moodle, which must be followed. Please submit the completed group tasks as one document online via the appropriate Turnitin submission on Moodle.
Hints and tips
Your project task should follow the templates provided for each task available here and on Moodle. Make sure to explain with sufficient detail the methods used. You must analyse and clearly present the information using theory, appropriate models, data, showing your understanding of why and how to use them.
