Purpose of the assessment:

This assessment aims to provide students with essential project planning skills necessary for analysing problems and generating solutions. It evaluates students’ capacity to strategically plan and execute projects successfully. This involves identifying goals, outlining specific activities to achieve those goals, establishing measures of success, leveraging acquired skills and knowledge, and anticipating potential challenges. When working on a client’s project,team members must grasp non-technical requirements, including project goals and individual roles within the project. Building confidence in the project's ability to deliver a solution that addresses the problem is crucial, in addition to meeting the technical requirements. This Comprehensive understanding is vital for the overall success of a project.

Detailed assignment instructions:

Imagine yourself as the team leader responsible for your group’s upcoming task assigned by the client. Thoroughly review the Project Brief and utilise notes from the Client BriefingSession in Week 2 to comprehend the client’s project requirements and the problem they want you to address. Develop a comprehensive game plan that prepares you to make recommendations to the client based on their problem.

1. Project Requirements: Concisely outline the project requirements as specified by the client,drawing from your comprehension of the Project Brief and insights from the Client Briefing Session.
2. Project Plan: Present your plan in a table covering the following key areas:

1. Objectives: Identify three primary objectives you aim to achieve by Week 9 of the semester in your game plan’ for developing recommendations to address the client’s problem.
2. Activities: Outline 2-3 specific activities that your team will undertake to achieve each stated project objective within your strategic game plan’.
3. Competencies: Identify the specific skills, disciplinary knowledge, and abilities required by your team to collectively complete the outlined activities and achieve the stated objectives.
4. Measures of Success: Define two specific measures of success within your strategic game plan’ that will be used to assess the accomplishment of each project objective.
