You must submit an electronic copy of your work through the final Turnitin box on the Moodle site. Submission of a draft copy will also be possible before submission of the final copy on Turnitin. This may take up to 1 day to process and IS NOT a valid excuse for late submission. No paper copy is required. You are advised to keep a copy of the assessment. |
| 10. Assessment Regulations |
All assessments are subject to the University Regulations Please tell your tutor before the deadline if you have exceptional circumstances and require an extension. A request for an extension should be made using the coursework extension request form (CE1), which must be submitted to the appropriate module leader. Otherwise the usual penalties for late submission will apply (up to a week late – capped at P1, over one week late –F-5). |

| 13. Nature of Feedback |
Written feedback will be available within 3 working weeks of submission of the Immunology project assessment. Please remember that written feedback may not be available until after the Christmas break. You should reflect upon the feedback received along with your coursework submission and the assessment criteria provided. You should identify areas you have addressed well and areas where you haven’t done so well with regards to the assessment criteria well. The latter should form the basis for an action plan in order to improve your skills / performance for similar assessments in the future. It would be useful to bring assessment feedback from your assignments to your next PDT session to use as a basis for discussion with your PDT. |
| 14. Return of work | The Student Charter specifies an entitlement to written feedback for coursework within 3 weeks of submission. We will work hard to meet this deadline; however, please remember that Christmas break begins end of week 15 December and ends in the first week of January and therefore the written feedback may not be available until after the Christmas break. |

Refer to the detailed instructions below/attached for the Assessment criteria. The Immunology project is worth 40% of the module. Assessment criteria follow normal academic conventions for acknowledging sources. |
You are required to write a short communication based on the work you carried out in the lab practical’s, following the instructions below. The document you generate will be assessed and marks allocated for each section as outlined below.
Note: Normally, an introduction and methodology would be required, but these will be provided for you in this assessment so you can focus on the presenting the work you did within the lab. Please read the supplied introduction and methodology carefully and refer back to it (including using the references) where appropriate.
Hypothesis: No word limit

Results: Target word count: 300 words (excluding graphs and figure legends) [40 marks]
In the Results section, you should include a clear and concise written description of your findings from the experiment. This includes morphological observations of the THP-1 cells and the quantitative IL-8 data obtained from the ELISA. This section should focus on describing your data/observations, but this should be done providing context within the scope of your research question with clarity over what the experimental conditions/controls tell you. You should present two figures, each with an accompanying figure legend that provides sufficient context and detail to understand the data presented.
