Work in groups of 4/5, you are to agree on a company to work on this assessment. In today’s fast-changing operating environment, companies are facing a competitive landscape and more demanding customers. Turbulent market conditions and growing awareness of environmental and sustainability issues are placing additional challenges to companies and organisations around the world. You are a team of marketing consultants. You are hired to carry out a strategic review of its marketing environment, its strategic marketing decisions and choices, and the customer base in terms of segmentation, targeting and positioning.
The group presentation should be about 15 minutes (+ 5 minutes for questions)
Your tutor will assist you in terms of initial group formation, but once this stage is completed, you are expected to operate independently and autonomously. It is your responsibility to make sure the team operate smoothly and all team members are expected to contribute towards the task.
The group needs to reach an early agreement about the company choice and it is recommended that you confirm this with the module tutor in week 1.
Unless exceptional circumstances (for example, group members have no contribution at all), you should receive an equal mark. If disputes occur, the entire group will be marked down on teamwork, and individual marks will be investigated and awarded by your tutors.
The assessment task outlined above has been designed to address specific validated learning outcomes for this module. It is useful to keep in mind that these are things you need to demonstrate in this piece of work.
1. Demonstrate a conceptual and critical understanding of marketing strategy in the context of regional, national and global markets.
6. Work collaboratively with others in an assigned task at a professional or equivalent level
Please note these learning outcomes are not additional questions
