Task Overview

• You will work as part of a team to create an infographic (visual display) on a topic related to analytical testing of cellular or nucleic acid therapeutics – team submission.
• You will use a decision matrix to select and justify your topic – team submission.
• You will provide a record of your team’s process – meeting minutes
• You will assess your own and teams’ performance – individual submission.

Learning Outcomes

• Develop detailed knowledge on selected topic.

Project Submission Schedule

AI Usage

AI tools can support planning but cannot replace independent research.

Level 2 AI Planning (Perkins et al., 2024*)

Level 2 focuses on using AI for planning, creating structures and generating ideas for improving work, but all content in the final submission must be independently verified (i.e. references) and developed by the student i.e. no AI generated content in the final submissions. AI tools may be used for initial brainstorming and research direction

only. Research must be subsequently verified using academic journals, textbooks, curriculum guidelines, and established educational frameworks. All substantive content, analysis, and resource creation must be completed independently by the team.

AI should support your learning process and not replace it.

AI Interaction Guidelines

• Log your prompts – record how you used AI in your reflection.
• Verify all information – cross-check AI suggestions with academic sources.
• Think critically – don’t accept AI suggestions uncritically.
• Acknowledge usage – indicate in your reflection where AI helped.
• Example of acceptable AI use: using AI to suggest possible infographic topics, then researching them independently.

Example of unacceptable AI use: Asking AI to create the infographic text, figures, references or decision matrix.

Academic Integrity

This assessment permits limited AI usage as specified. The university uses various methods to ensure academic integrity, which may include:

• Reviewing your AI interaction logs
• Random oral verification during tutorials
• Team interviews about content development
• Comparison with your previous work
• By submitting this assessment, you confirm that you have used AI tools only as permitted within these guidelines and that all substantive work represents your team’s own efforts

TASK 1

Infographic Content – Topic Chosen

Your chosen topic will be discussed in a lecture to determine its relevance before proceeding.

Infographic Design Guidelines

Format: Single-slide poster (PowerPoint, Canva, or equivalent).
Submission: PDF or PNG, minimum resolution 1080p, suitable for digital viewing.

Structure:

Introduction – context, therapeutic, and need for testing.

Main Section – details of the test/method and its application.

Conclusion – key message and significance.

Style: Educational and visually appealing. Graphics are important and you should aim to keep sentences short and to the point.
References: Minimum 5, maximum 15 credible/primary sources. Reference style is detailed in the Canvas referencing guide.

TASK 2

Decision Matrix Instructions

• Each team member proposes at least one topic for the infographic.
• As a group, agree on 4–6 criteria that are important for choosing the best one.
• Score each topic across the chosen criteria using a scoring mechanism e.g. 1 – 5 where 1 = poor, 3 = moderate 5 = excellent.
• Calculate the total score for each topic.
• Use the scores to guide discussion, consensus is more important than the score alone. After scoring, include a short paragraph explaining why the chosen topic was selected — not just based on scores, but based on group consensus and discussion.

Include the following in your submission:

• Team members
• The completed Matrix
• The final selected topic
• A short paragraph (max 400 words) explaining why it was chosen

TASK 3

Peer Evaluation Rubric

Use this form to evaluate the contributions of each team member to the group effort. These evaluations are completely confidential and will not be shown to your team members. Please respond as honestly and fairly as possible. For each member of your group, complete the form by stating the group member’s name and assigning them a mark out of the 10. You must then score up the total marks out of 60 for each group member. Ensure you complete part 2, by giving some examples of evidence for the scores you have given.

Scoring scale guide: 2 weak, 4 acceptable, 6 strong, 8 outstanding, 10 exceptional.
