AVIA1301 Submission details
Prior to submitting your assignment, you are required to sign the Assessment 2 Student Declaration in the Assessments Hub. Failure to do so will disallow you from submitting your assignment. Submit the assignment via the AVIA1301 Moodle course page by the specified submission date. You can find the submission box in the Assessments Hub section titled 'Assessment 2 Submission Box'.
- Please be aware that your assignment and all assessments in this course will undergo a plagiarism check via the Turnitin plagiarism detection tool and in alignment with UNSW policy. This includes the detection of plagiarism, collusion, and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- For this assessment task, you are not allowed to use generative AI such as ChatGPT or paraphrasing tools such as Grammarly.
- You may use standard editing and referencing functions software for basic spelling and grammar check, and referencing (e.g., Microsoft Office applications, Endnote).
- However, you cannot use this software to generate ideas or edit your work to an extent where your submission is not deemed your own work i.e. the words and/or meaning are significantly generated by a software program.
- If the use of generative AI or paraphrasing tools is detected, it will be regarded as serious academic misconduct and subject to the standard penalties, which may include 00FL, suspension and exclusion.
- It is a good idea to keep copies of your initial prompts to show your lecturer if there is any uncertainty about the originality of your work.

- Ensure that you read the assignment instructions thoroughly and provide a response based on what is required from the brief.

As part of your answer, you will be assessed on your ability to:
- Detail the various steps and responses illustrated by the crew (positive and/or negative) that contributed to the outcome of the accident.
- Describe any non-technical classroom and simulator training that could be employed to ensure that all crew are aware of those responses and how to react correctly in the future.
- Clearly refer to and integrate any important concepts from the course content, and cite any appropriate scholarly and non-scholar literature, where relevant.
- Adhere to, and implement the instructions presented for the assignment.
- Reflect on the given aviation scenario and formulate a well-considered, coherent, correct, and well-articulated responses and discussion related to the provided question(s) and context.
- Demonstrate your understanding of the concepts, theories and ideas developed in the course that relate to the question(s) provided;
- Appropriately use grammar, spelling, style, and academic referencing, together with an appropriate mix of research and original thought.
- Convey your own ideas in an interesting, innovative way and in your own words, rather than as a 'model answer' derived from the text or comprised mainly of quoted reference text.
- You do not need to include a summary of the event in your response.
- Communicate concepts clearly, concisely, and accurately.
