Welcome to Module HR4010 – Academic and Digital Proficiency. This is a core module for all students in the Department of Business and aims to equip students to succeed in both their studies and future career. This includes the development of individual non-cognitive intelligence, digital proficiency, and cultural intelligence.
The aim of this module is to develop students’ interest, knowledge and understanding of how to develop transferable skills in order to succeed in their academic study and prepare for future employment. As already mentioned, students will be able to take responsibility for their own learning in preparation for the world of work
At the end of this module, students will:
->Knowledge
1. Outline the purpose and distinct focus of business and management research (IC, COI, EE,DP)
2. Identify, access, collate, interpret and evaluate evidence from different sources (IC, COI)
->Thinking skills
1. Reflect on and articulate ideas in a report (SEI, COI)
2. Demonstrate evidence of reflection on your own academic learning skills and performance by implementing feedback (SEI)
->Subject-based practical skills
1. Demonstrate appropriate use of technology to facilitate studies (DP)
2. Express a range of ideas using appropriate language and academic writing conventions and demonstrate appropriate academic integrity (avoiding plagiarism, and/or collusion, and other forms of misconduct). (IC, COI)

1. Interact effectively within a group working situation (IC, COI, CC, SEI)
