University Coventry University Module Title 7143SOH: Global Healthcare Management Course Portfolio

Introduction

This module guide provides you with information about the module, aims and summary, assessment and required reading and should be read in conjunction with the Module Descriptor found on the Module Information Directory (MID) available from the Student Portal and the Moodle page.

Aims and Summary

The Global Healthcare Management Portfolio has two functions –
-    to showcase achievement across the course with evidence of study output, and
-    to enable students to critically reflect on individual learning and development as they progress with their studies.

Alongside the presentation of material, the student will maintain a journal or blog, enabling them to critically reflect on their study journey. Over the progress of the course, this will provide them with valuable information to link theory and practice, integrating learning and experience. Crucially, it provides a link between all the taught modules, following key course themes and presenting a complete overview of Global Health Management for the individual.

For students who enrol on the Professional Experience element, the portfolio will become their ongoing record of achievement and self-evaluation against their agreed personal development goals.

The portfolio is a portable, flexible resource that can demonstrate students’ employability skills in leadership and management, as a curated collection of evidence and a log of professional achievement.

Module Learning Outcomes

There are three learning outcomes for the module and by the time you have completed it, it is envisaged that you will be able to:

  1.  To recognise the value of continuing professional development through the use of an electronic or physical portfolio to evidence learning and achievement.
  2. To develop and understand the importance of self-management in order to inform and shape your ongoing self-development and organisational skills as a leader and manager
  3. To critically review your progress through the course in the form of an appropriate action plan.
