6027MKT Assignment Task

This is an individual assignment.

The assignment requires you to design and produce a presentation on Homebase. You are required to develop a marketing strategy for Homebase, which should include:

  • Redefined mission, vision, and values
  • Redefined objectives
  • Rebranding
  • TOWS matrix
  • Market and competitive positioning analysis
  • Target market strategy
  • Multi-channel digital marketing plan integrated with brand repositioning.
  • Opportunities for partnerships or collaborations to enhance brand presence.
  • Performance indicators and risk assessment to measure and secure strategic success.

For the strategies used above, you will need to justify the application by clearly explaining how each strategy aligns with Homebase’s current market position, resources, and long-term objectives, and by demonstrating its feasibility through relevant theories, industry evidence, and realistic consideration of risks and implementation challenges. 

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): 

This assessment is categorised as AMBER for the use of AI.
 
You may use AI for the following only:

  • Planning and management: using AI tools to suggest a title, structure, subheadings, or themes, to generate templates, to suggest processes for task management, or to generate prompts to assist thinking through assessment structure or task management.
  • Summarising and consolidating notes: using AI tools to summarise notes or to consolidate notes.

Submission Instructions:

All presentation materials (all slides and supporting materials) must be uploaded to AULA Turnitin by 18:00 on 24/11/2025 UK time. You can access the Turnitin submission link through the Aula page.  

  • Your 10-minute face to face presentation will be scheduled to take place week commencing 24/11/2025, after you have submitted. You will receive an allotted time during this period. 
  • You will be allowed 5 minutes prior to the start of your presentation to prepare and set up any supporting materials.  
  • Your coursework may be given a zero mark if you do not submit a copy through Turnitin. Please take care to ensure that you have fully submitted your work. 
  • Your coursework will be given a zero mark if you do not present your work in person as live presentation.  
  • Please ensure that you have submitted your work using the correct file format, unreadable files will receive a mark of zero. The Faculty accepts Microsoft Word, unless otherwise advised by the module leader. PDFs are not accepted. This assignment presentation supporting material can also be submitted in Microsoft PowerPoint. 
  • All work submitted after the submission deadline without a valid and approved reason will be given a mark of zero.  
  • The University wants you to do your best. However, we know that sometimes events happen which mean that you can’t submit your coursework by the deadline – these events should be beyond your control and not easy to predict.  If this happens, you can apply for an extension to your deadline for up to five workings days, or if you need longer, you can apply for a deferral, which takes you to the next assessment period (for example, to the resit period following the main Assessment Boards). You must apply before the deadline. 
    You will find information about the process and what is or is not considered to be an event beyond your control 
  • Students MUST keep a copy and/or an electronic file of their assignment. 
  • Students need to acknowledge how they have used any AI tool by inserting a table as per the example below before your list of references:
