502TH Assignment Task

You are required to write a 3000-word (+/-10%) literature review that evaluates methods of attracting and retaining talent in the tourism and hospitality industry. Please remember that the front cover, contents page, and reference list do not count toward your word count.

You must explore and critically assess the challenging industry-related issues that HRM faces. Are organisations developing solutions to these challenges?

When reviewing the literature, the following should be taken into account:

  • What is particularly different about the nature of the T&H industry that makes human resources harder to manage, taking into account recent and current external factors? (LO3)
  • What methods are helping resolve these characteristics of the industry? (LO4)
  • Why is Human Resource Management important to the strategic business success of Hospitality organisations? Critically assess the strategic contribution of Human Resource Management to business success. (LO5)
  • What difficulties are there in balancing strategic goals and employee goals? (LO5)
  • How does employee performance impact the pursuit of strategic organisational successes? (LO5)
  • What are the current ways forward for recruiting and retaining employees? (LO4)
  • What are the requirements of Quality Management schemes in methods of recruitment and retention? (LO6)

Please ensure that your report includes appropriate theories and concepts. Also, consider providing examples to support your arguments throughout your report.

Submission Instructions:

There should be a title page that clearly identifies the following:

  • Student ID Number (no name)
  • Name and code of the module
  • Title of the Assessment
  • Assessment number
  • Word count

On completion of your assessment, you are required to upload the final edition to the Aula 502TH space. Each student is required to upload before the 6 pm deadline, and any submissions that are uploaded beyond the submission deadline will not be accepted or graded. All written assignment uploads should always be in Microsoft Word and not PDF.
