The lesson must include a clear reference to SDG 14 and it should motivate and empower the children to become informed, responsible and active citizens.
The lesson should adopt an enquiry-based approach with active collaborative learning activities, but it must also outline explicit teaching.
Design or curate a teaching resource or a teacher designed task, that will be used to support teaching and enhance learning during the lesson. Any medium may be used, and this task can be uploaded separately if necessary. The resource or the teacher designed task must be clearly used in the lesson plan.
If a YouTube, or third-party video/ resource is used you must provide a 400-word rationale outlining why the video/resource was chosen and how it will be used. A word count penalty of + or – 10% will be applied to the rationale only.
Word Count: There is no word count for these tasks, but it is expected that the integrated thematic plan and the lesson plan will be approximately 500-700 words each (not including the template text). The teaching resource to support teaching should be approximately 400 words.
Write an 800-word reflection outlining the personal learning you have achieved during the creation of this portfolio. Discuss the merits and potential challenges of adopting an integrated thematic approach to teaching about the Sustainable Development Goal Life below water. You may refer to both the 1999 and the 2025 curricula in your discussion.
In the completion of this task refer to your portfolio, and at least three academic and professional sources to support the discussion. Curriculum documents are NOT counted as academic references.
A word count penalty of + or – 10% will be applied. A word count of less than 720 and greater than 880 will incur a 10% penalty for this component of the assessment
