You are required to produce a reflective portfolio that provides a critical evaluation of your current academic, professional and digital competencies as a Master's student. The portfolio should integrate personal reflection, skills evaluation and personal-development planning; and it should be structured as follows:

Section 1 – Personal Reflection • Use a recognised academic reflective model to critically reflect on your learning experience thus far. You may choose to focus on your academic development during your previous studies or your current Master’s course (MBA or MSc Project Management), either in general or with regards to a particular module/aspect. Your reflection should:

  – Identify key experiences, and analyse how these experiences have shaped your academic and professional practices.

  – Identify any challenges that you might have faced, and explain how you addressed or plan to address them.

  – Demonstrate self-awareness (e.g. of your own emotions), awareness of contextual (e.g. external) factors and your learning processes.

  – Integrate the relevant academic literature to connect theory to your current and future academic and professional practices.

Section 2 – Academic and Professional Skills Assessment

• Critically evaluate two academic skills (e.g. critical thinking, research, academic writing) and two professional skills (e.g. digital literacy, teamwork, project management) that are essential at a Master’s level. Your discussion should:

  – Describe each skill, and analyse its relevance and application in both the academic and professional contexts.

  – Assess your current proficiency in the skill.

- Clarify whether you have already been actively developing the skill or intend to enhance it during the course of your Master’s studies.

- Be supported by theoretical perspectives and practical examples.

- Refer to the relevant workshop activities, including the academic and professional skills evaluation surveys, where appropriate.

- Ensure that this section builds upon, but does not duplicate, your personal reflection in Section 1.

 
Section 3 – Future
Skills Anticipation and Planning
- Critically analyse the current and emerging trends in the digital workplace, and the corresponding skillsets required for future success. Anticipate how these trends might influence your ongoing development.

Your discussion should:

- Look into how such technological and professional trends could shape your career path.

- Identify and discuss your current skill gaps.

- Explain how you would prepare a Personal Development Plan (PDP) containing at least four SMART goals to address the identified skill gaps (to conserve word count, place the PDP table in the appendices).

- Incorporate insights from Section 2, workshop activities (e.g. Jisc Digital Capabilities evaluation survey) and supporting literature to enhance your analysis of the skill gaps.

Instructions and Academic Practice

The word limit is 2,000 (+/-10%); excluding the title page, table of contents, reference list and appendices. The whole portfolio should be submitted as one MS Word file.

You are expected to cite sources twice: in-text and within the reference list. The citations must follow the Harvard (Cite Them Right 13th Edition) Referencing Style.

Your portfolio should be written in a professional manner, with standard formatting and layout.
